Meet David Caicedoz!

While visiting our Embera Chami artisans in October 2017, we were very fortunate to meet a young and aspiring jewelry designer, David Caicedoz. David was vending his handmade and one-of-kind brass necklaces on the busy streets Bogotá, Colombia.

Inspired by Pre-Hispanic gold designs seen The Museum of Gold ( El Museo del Oro )and detailed ancient Aztec jewelry making techniques, David pieces are truly beautifully unique.  David uses simple materials consisting of nickel free brass wire and semi-precious stones. When looking through David's fine collection, he expressed " each piece allows him to reconnect with his ancestors and heritage with a modern perspective of simplicity." For David Caicedoz, each piece has an opportunity to be a symbolic representation of the masculine energy, feminine energy and elements of nature. One detailed piece can occupies David's time for 5 - 8 days.

We are honored to work closely with David by representing him as one our first International Colombian Contemporary jewelry designers.
